First news about oil

Since ancient times the oil appeared naturally in certain continental regions such as that now occupied by the Middle East. The Assyrians and Babylonians used it to lay bricks and stones, the Egyptians, for greasing skins, 6,000 years ago. At the time, was used for medicinal purposes, in embalming, to grease the wheels of carriages and for greasing skins.

However, the exploitation of this resource would not arrive until the year 100 BCwhen the Chinese, in a rather rustic oil extracted from the earth. His technique, if it can be called, was to find a place that seems appropriate to pierce with a bamboo cane and extract the oil well. However, after 1850 a new stage that will be characterized by commercialization, due to the discovery of valuable uses for this natural resource. For example, asphalt is not only used for caulking boats (waterproof), but also for creating paths. Also, the paraffin was used in the manufacture of candles illumination, the coating of cheese, creams for footwear, among others. Kerosene, meanwhile, began to be used in heating and lighting.

Final conclusion

This project has been quite interesting because we have learned that oil is fossil fuel on which turns the modern age, especially in more developed societies, is the energy source easier to extract and transport
also, through this project I've noticed the big problems we have today in our society related to the oil crisis and all that that entails.
Oil is based on a global petrochemical giant has been producing synthetic rubber, detergents, fertilizers to paints, insulation materials and dyes, among other products of high value and demand. It is also the king of fuel rolling road equipment, fly or sail.
That's the good oil. But there is also the ugly: between 60 and 70% of the external debt of poor countries of the world regards the payment of oil they buy to try to develop.
The exaggerated price of oil today, as sometimes happened, shocked to the weak economies of poor nations.
The oil then is matter of current in either direction: military, economic, political ... and relate to environmen missing.
And here we come to very serious problems brought by the constant and growing use of that energy carrier worldwide.
The society, in all geographical locations, depends on oil to live or simply survive.
But for how long? By some estimates an increase of 2% of annual consumption of fuel would shorten the life just a century. One hundred years ... and the oil age will end!
I do not think the solution is in biofuels is the right combination of energy and environmental policies. Please note that those who most promotes the third world to produce biofuels is the same that did not enter the Kyoto protocol because it is not interested in just taking care of the environment. And keep in mind that there are no miracle solutions to problems, all require work.
